Working Collaboratively with Family Caregivers
of Persons with Serious and Persistent Mental Illness
The following materials were developed as part of a professional education workshop for mental health providers presented by BCSS in the Fraser Health Region in spring of 2006.
Program development funding was provided by the Provincial Health Services Authority and the materials were developed as a member of BC Partners for Mental Health and Addictions Information.
This workshop was intended as an introduction to ideas around working more in partnership with families of persons with mental illness and explored what the informational and other needs of families are, how to collaborate with families, and issues around confidentiality and what information is necessary to be disclosed and can be disclosed to family members and other supporters.
