Fundraising - Mind Foundation of BC

The Mind Foundation of BC raises funds for the programs and services offered by the BC Schizophrenia Society. It also raises money for schizophrenia research. Officially founded November 17, 2004, the MIND Foundation replaces the Dr. Norma Calder Foundation with a new name and brand.The goals of the MIND Foundation are as follows:
- Recruitment of Board Members with Fundraising and Public Relations expertise
- Expand current levels of funding for the BC Schizophrenia Society’s Programs and Support Services
- Maintain and expand current levels of funding for research
- Expand upon current donor base
- Host an annual fundraising event with a net profit
- Expand corporate and employee fund contributions
- Create an organizational culture that is innovative, business-like, and respected in the fund development community
- Continue branding strategies with donors and the public at large so they understand the mandate and goals of the Mind Foundation of BC.

- Mind Foundation of BC will continue to raise funds for research as did the Calder Foundation.
- It will maintain all existing Calder endowments, grants etc.
- In addition to raising funds for Research, the Mind Foundation of BC will aim to increase sources of funding for the programs and services of the BC Schizophrenia Society.
