    There are many youth sites on the web that are doing a great job organizing and presenting information on mental health problems and related symptoms.

    Here they are:

    Addictions Services Of Thames Valley - Addictions Service Of Thames Valley (ADSTV) provides early intervention to persons who are concerned about susbstance use and/or problem gambling. ADSTV also operates within the Stages of Change paradigm and has developed programs and approaches to assist any client whether they are identified as being ready for change or not.

    Alter Heroes - a site dedicated to eliminating prejudice and discrimination so that gay lesbian bisexual and transgendered youth can feel proud to be equal members of society.

    BUILT Network - BUILT Network is a national skills development program that offers an interactive and supportive customer service representative skills program at 6 project sites as well as through the Internet to individuals regardless of their location. The program allows participants to develop the personal and professional skills needed to successfully return to work.

    Canadian Coalition of Alternative Mental Health Resources - The Canadian Coalition of Alternative Mental Health Resources is a national forum that embraces best practices, alternative programs, learning opportunities, knowledge transfer and resource sharing. It seeks to bring together leaders in mental health from across the country to address policies and positions of the consumers community nationally, as a united voice.

    Children’s Mental Health Ontario – Children’s Mental Health Ontario represents and supports about 81 providers of child and youth mental health treatment services throughout Ontario. A troubled child or youth can come to one of their centres to receive the following types of help: individual and group counselling, family counselling, parent support and training, life skills training, psychiatric treatment, anger management, substance abuse counselling, problem-solving skills etc.

    Face the Issue - This site uses animation narrated by high profile celebrities like Jennifer Lopez and Nicole Kidman to discuss tough topics such as anorexia nervosa, self esteem and addictions. 

    Family Service Canada - Family Service Canada, a not-for-profit, national voluntary organization founded in 1982, represents the concerns of families and family-serving agencies across Canada. Membership includes family service agencies, corporations, government agencies and interested individuals.

    Get Help Early - Almost everything you need to know about psychosis.

    Hope’s Garden - Hope’s Garden, Eating Disorders Support and Resource Centre offers a safe and supportive environment to people who suffer from eating disorders and for their families and friends. Check out their information on how to talk to your family about eating disorders and find out how they can help.

    Metonia - Additional reading on the issue of suicide and helping yourself or those individuals in your life who may be feeling suicidal.

    National Network for Mental Health - The purpose of the National Network for Mental Health, which is run by and for mental health consumer/survivors, is to advocate, educate and provide expertise and resources that benefit the Canadian consumer/survivor community.

    Provincial Centre of Excellence - The Provincial Centre of Excellence for Child and Youth Mental Health at CHEO is an innovative response to the challenges facing Ontario’s child and youth mental health system. Check out how they are working hard for you.

    Psychosis Sucks! - Great information about psychosis and associated problems.

    Reach Out! - information on all types of stressful situations and symptoms including depression, family problems and relationship stuff. Good, solid information. And real innovators!

    ReachOut Psychosis - The British Columbia Schizophrenia Society (BCSS)  presents ReachOut, a fun and innovative tour that will raise awareness about psychosis for youth between the ages of 16-25, with music and poetry! The site has a great resource section for families, youth and educators, plus a peer support forum at www.support.bcss.org

    Soul II Soul is a place where you can talk freely about your loss and explore your grief. At Soul II Soul you will find info on the grieving process, how to support a grieving friend, as well as the space to share your story, create memories, and upload a variety of things such as lyrics, pictures, MP3’s, letters to loved ones, stories and anything else you can think of. There is also a section included for parents and educators.

    The Canada Health Portal - The portal offers health resources on topics such as conditions and diseases, alcohol and drugs, smoking, sexuality and relationships, fitness, nutrition, mental health, abuse and violence, and other health issues and concerns for youth.

    What’s With Weed - This site is for users or concerned friends of users. What’s With Weed will not tell you how to run your life or tell you that weed is bad or good.  It will tell you how it can affect people and help you avoid or reduce the harm connected with use.

    Youth4Youth - reliable information on sexual health for young people.

    YouthLine.ca - The Lesbian Gay Bi Trans Youth Line is a service provided for youth, by youth that affirms the experiences and aspirations of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transsexual, transgender, 2-spirited, queer and questioning youth in Ontario.

    Zoot 2 - info on alcohol,drugs, clubdrugs, gambling and tobacco use.
