SERVICES OFFERED

One-On-One Support – This individual support is available to you if you have questions, concerns or just need to talk to someone about mental wellness of yourself or someone close to you.

Family Support Group – This support is provided on the last Thursday of each month at 7 p.m. at the Family Centre in Salmon Arm.  This is a confidential group where you can share your hopes, fears, knowledge or concerns with other who have first-hand experience in supporting a family member or loved one that has a mental illness and/or addiction.

Consumer Cleaning Program – This cleaning program helps in improving the emotional and physical well-being of someone who has a serious and persistent mental illness, and who is a client of Mental Health and Substance Use Services in Salmon Arm.

Library – We have a lending library consisting of books and DVDs on all of the mental illnesses.  Some of the illnesses covered are Schizophrenia, Bipolar Disorder, Depression, Borderline Personality Disorder, Anxieties, Dementia, Alzheimer’s, as well as other mental illnesses and addictions. There are also informative brochures and booklets to answer some of your questions.

Strengthening Families Together Workshop – This FREE workshop is a one night a week for six weeks workshop to educate families and friends who have someone close to them that has a mental illness. If you would like to learn more about the illness and how to help yourself and the mentally ill person, this is a great place to start.  This workshop takes place twice a year, in the spring and in the fall, so call the Salmon Arm branch for more information.
