RESPONSIVE PARENTING FOR CONCURRENT DISORDER YOUTH
Parents will learn strategies to deal with young people ages 14-24 who have a concurrent disorder. (Concurrent disorder is a combination of substance and mental health issues.)
The eight sessions will consist of:
1. Identifying procedures & goals to deal with concurrent disorder youth
2. Learning positive & negative reinforcement
3. Normal & logical consequences & goal setting
4. Understanding family constellation & goals of misbehaviour
5. Communication & problem solving
6. Biology and Development
7. Suicide/high risk behaviours/stress management
8. Resources
When: Tuesdays, Sept. 9th to Oct. 28 5:30-7:30pm
