RESEARCH PARTICIPANTS WANTED: Birth, childhood health and psychosis outcomes

PURPOSE OF THIS STUDY:
The goal of the current study is to determine the prevalence, rate, and types of pregnancy complications and early life events that may be associated with the emergence of psychosis and related metabolic disorder in patients with schizophrenia spectrum disorders.

WHO CAN PARTICIPATE?
We are seeking mothers of offspring between the ages of 16-45 years of age who have been diagnosed with schizophrenia.

WHAT IS INVOLVED?
A 30-45 minute interview administered by a research assistant, in person or by telephone, consisting of the following 3 qualitative questionnaires:
• Obstetric Complications during pregnancy and birth
• Childhood development of affected offspring
• Physical and mental health of offspring prior to formal diagnosis of schizophrenia
