Celebrating The Successes of People Living with Schizophrenia and Other Serious Mental Illness

On May 24, 2018, B.C. Schizophrenia Society hosted the 2nd Annual Re-Mind: A Day of Art, Music and Readings for National Schizophrenia and Psychosis Awareness Day. Sponsored by the Otsuka-Lundbeck Alliance, this free event filled Beaumont Studios with more than 120 people throughout the day who listened to authors, enjoyed musicians, and admired the art on the walls. This event serves as a reminder to us all that people living with serious mental illness [who have their symptoms managed through proper medication and treatment] are able to succeed and live full lives that give back to our communities.

For people who missed the event, we will be doing special online features on the artists from this year’s event. Artists and performers who were part of this year’s celebration:

We would also like to thank Conviction Wines and Musette Caffè for their donations and Fluevog Shoes, Zinc Inc., Four Winds Brewing Company and Dageraad Brewing for donating prizes.
