The BC Schizophrenia Society Foundation raises funds for schizophrenia research and the programs and services offered by the BC Schizophrenia Society. The Foundation was officially founded on November 17, 2004 as the Dr. Norma Calder Foundation and was later renamed the MIND Foundation before becoming the BC Schizophrenia Society Foundation in 2013.

The goals of the BCSS Foundation are as follows:

  • Recruit Board Members with Fundraising and Public Relations expertise
  • Expand current levels of funding for BC Schizophrenia Society’s Programs and Services
  • Maintain and expand current levels of funding for research
  • Expand upon current donor base
  • Host an annual fundraising event with a net profit
  • Expand corporate and employee fund contributions
  • Create an organizational culture that is innovative, business-like, and respected in the fund development community
  • Continue branding strategies with donors and the public at large so they understand the mandate and goals of the BC Schizophrenia Society
