New Resource Highlights

  • Online Family Support group - these private, facilitated online groups provide a safe place for persons supporting a loved one with a mental illness to share experiences, resources and support. www.support.bcss.org

  • Program information
    • www.bridges.bcss.org - B.R.I.D.G.E.S - - BRIDGES stands for Building Recovery of Individual Dreams & Goals through Education & Support. BRIDGES is a course taught by consumers for consumers.
    • www.buddy.bcss.org - Family Support Buddy Program -  - one on one support from someone who's been there.
    • www.kidsincontrol.bcss.org - Kids in Control -  - group for children with a parent with a mental illness.
    • www.partnership.bcss.org - Partnership Presentations - - public presentations on mental illness
    • www.strengtheningfamilies.bcss.org - Strengthening Familes Together - - this course is for family members and friends of a person with a mental illness.
    • www.respite.bcss.org - Family Respite Program - - this highly regarded and flexible program provides a break from caregiving to family members caring for a person with a mental illness, including children, spouses, parents, siblings etc... It is available in selected communities in BC.
  • Online Support Groups for Family / Supporters - Private, anonymous, facilitated support groups for family members, LGBT family members/spouses/supporters & rural family members throughout BC. www.support.bcss.org
  • For an array of useful plain language evidence-based fact sheets and other resources for family members / supporters of persons with mental illness visit www.families.bcss.org
