A Family Support Services Plan is being developed by Fraser Health-Mental Health and Addictions Services.
As part of their consultation process, a series of focus groups for family members is being held across Fraser Health. We urge all family members to attend at least one focus group to have their views heard. (The full list of when and where they are is at the bottom of this message)
The BC Schizophrenia Society strongly supports these plans to design a blueprint to “enhance the capacity of family members to participate effectively in the treatment process of their loved one.”
A total of twelve groups are planned in communities throughout the Fraser Health Authority. Currently dates have been set for the communities of Burnaby, New Westminster, the Tri-Cities and the Maple Ridge/Pitt Meadows area. Each group will be focusing on one of two areas of interest: Including Families in Treatment, and Strengthening Family Support Services. Details are listed below.
Linked below are posters for each event plus a document which contains background information about the Family Support Services Plan project.
Please help by spreading the word about these focus groups by:
- forwarding this message to anyone on your contact list who might be interested;
- posting the attached posters (above) in visible areas; and
- handing the posters out as brochures.
Thank you,
David Dickinson
