Hello Everyone,
 
Kids In Control is a fun, interactive group for kids aged 8-12 who have a parent with a mental illness. Children learn the following:
 
  1. They are not alone in their experience
  2. How to identify feelings
  3. Healthy boundaries and how to communicate feelings
  4. Information about mental illness and it’s treatment
  5. Ways to develop resiliency
  6. Societal attitudes and stigma
  7. Healthy self-care strategies.
 
The group will be held in Burnaby at Yukon Crescent Daycare, south of Brentwood Mall (2123 Yukon Crescent, Burnaby) on Mondays and Wednesdays from 5pm - 6:30pm starting January 25th through February 17, 2010.  Please see the attached registration form and flyer.   Also please pass on to your colleagues as appropriate.
