The Human Face of Mental Health and Mental Illness in Canada
An older resource (2006) but one that you may not be aware of is the The Human Face of Mental Health and Mental Illness in Canada, produced by the Public Health Agency of Canada. This report has an extensive chapter titled “The Mental Health and Well-Being of Aboriginal Peoples in Canada”. Readers might find some of the discussion covers areas they are already familiar with, but the chapter contains an overview of concepts, and some statistics. The full document is available at this link and the Aboriginal mental health and well being chapter begins on page 178.
Lower Mainland - Aboriginal Resources
The Red Book is a listing of lower mainland resources that has a listing of programs and services for aboriginal persons.
