Giving Pages for the BC Schizophrenia Society

What if helping BCSS help people with schizophrenia and their families was as easy as sending out an email to your friends? That’s what Jodi Diamond and Harpreet Chauhan did this year. The long time running partners contacted BCSS about dedicating an upcoming half marathon they were running to BCSS and using it as an opportunity to raise money to support BCSS. Our BCSS webmaster set up a giving page for them on CanadaHelps.org and gave Jodi and Harpreet a short link to it to send out in their emails. Jodi and Harpreet wrote an email letter to their friends and family explaining that they work in mental health, and see all the good work BCSS does, and would like to encourage their friends and family to support BCSS by clicking on the link and donating online. These two BCSS supporters raised thousands of dollars for BCSS in two short months, with donors giving between $20 and $500 each. If you believe in the good work BCSS does and want to encourage your friends and family to support us this holiday season, and give you the gift of making a difference, please contact our webmaster at onlinesupport@bcss.org who will set you up your very own giving page.

Canada Helps Information

Canada helps is a registered Canadian charity that functions kind of like an online ‘United Way’, that processes donations on behalf of other registered Canadian charities. The full donation amount made via CanadaHelps is transferred directly into BCSS’s bank account, less a small credit card processing fee that is normal for online transactions. The donor receives a charitable tax receipt from CanadaHelps right away via email. Frequently asked questions about giving pages
