Eye of the Storm

Experience the emotional journey of a 17-year-old’s life with schizophrenia through Eye of the Storm, a professionally staged reading of a play in one act by award-winning BC playwright Peter Zednik. Presented by the BC Schizophrenia Society to mark the 20th anniversary of its production, the performance will be held at the Paetzold Auditorium in Vancouver on Thursday May 25th, 2023, just one day after National Schizophrenia and Psychosis Day

Directed by Jane Heyman, Eye of the Storm features a talented cast including Hiro Kanagawa, Jill Daum, Elizabeth Barrett, Agnes Tong, and Cameron Peal. Through her journey with delusions, hallucinations, and her diagnosis of schizophrenia, Marlie realizes the importance of receiving treatment and taking medication to manage her illness. 

Following this event, there will be a discussion panel comprising of the playwright and special guests, who will delve into the Eye of the Storm’s significance in the real-world experiences of those affected by schizophrenia. 

The presentation is open to the public and free of charge, but registration is required due to limited seating.
