The BC Schizophrenia Society recently held an All-Staff Meeting and Planning Session to help shape our organizational plans and goals for the coming year. From March 13th to 14th, 2024, staff from across the province got together to share information and connect with one another. Together we shared our successes and unique viewpoints and learned both together and from each other.

Our team has come out of this session stronger and with an increased focus on collaboration and mutual respect. We heard from staff who have been working with BCSS for as many as 20+ years, as well as our newest team members who have just joined us. Staff travelled far and wide from Vancouver Island, Haida Gwaii, Prince Rupert, Cariboo, Dawson Creek, and more.

Alongside presentations from the communications and development teams, as well as words from our Board of Directors President, Jack Middleton, and our CEO, Faydra Aldridge, we discussed ways to grow and strengthen our programs, and services and new ways to implement technology. The session ended with a cultural competency workshop led by regional educators Barbara and Reasha, who shared their essential experiences working within their communities as well as tools for fostering inclusivity and understanding.

BCSS is grateful for the opportunity to hold these vital training and planning sessions. A big thanks to our staff who took time out of their normal schedules and responsibilities to meet in person in Richmond.
