On November 22, 2022, the BC Schizophrenia Society held its annual Donor Appreciation Event virtually to present “New Ways of Understanding and Changing Symptoms of Schizophrenia.”
The event started with BCSS CEO Faydra Aldridge showing her appreciation to donors, the BCSS team, and our generous sponsor Otsuka-Lundbeck Alliance whose generous contribution made this event possible.
Our host for the night was Renato Zane, Volunteer Chair of BC Schizophrenia Society, who gave a warm welcome to our remarkable guests: Dr. Todd Woodward, Professor, Department of Psychiatry, University of British Columbia, and Director of the UBC Cognitive Neuroscience of Schizophrenia Laboratory; and Dr. Rafal Skiba, Postdoctoral Researcher, Department of Psychiatry at the University of British Columbia.
Our honourable guests for the night gave a presentation on their ongoing research about understanding mental disorders like schizophrenia with a specific focus on brain science and neural mechanisms. The event ended with an opportunity for our donors to ask questions before closing remarks from our host who thanked everyone for attending the Donor Appreciation Event 2022.
