On Saturday, September 26, 2020, Drs Diane McIntosh and Randall White joined the BC Schizophrenia Society to share information about the impacts of COVID-19 on families affected by schizophrenia.
Dr. McIntosh focused on the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on people’s mental health overall and how it has affected families. She also offered up some basic strategies and tips to help people maintain their mental wellness.
Dr. White focused his presentation on the direct impacts of COVID-19 on people with serious mental illness. Dr. White also included information on coronavirus and psychosis, potential complications of COVID-19 on those living with schizophrenia, available services, and the impacts on clinical service.
We are extremely grateful to them both for taking the time to share their expertise and answer our questions.
