SUMMARY:2025 Annual General Meeting and Education Session
DESCRIPTION:  \nThe 2025 BC Schizophrenia Society Annual General Meeting (AGM) and Education Session will take place Saturday\, September 27\, from 1:00 – 3:00 PM at the Sandman Signature Vancouver Airport Hotel & Resort (10251 St Edwards Dr\, Richmond\, BC V6X 2M9). \nThis event will provide important information about the past fiscal year and a thought-provoking presentation about improving care for people with severe mental illnesses across our province. The Annual General Meeting and Education Session will begin with the business portion\, followed by the introduction of our keynote speaker\, Dr. Daniel Vigo. \n  \nPlease RSVP using the link or form at the bottom of this page.\nThis event will utilize a hybrid format\, allowing attendees to attend in-person or virtually. \n  \nNote: Only BCSS Members may vote during the AGM\, but that can be done in person or virtually. For more info visit abbvie.ca \n  \n  \n\nKeynote Speaker: Dr. Daniel Vigo\nDr. Vigo is a psychiatrist\, licentiate in psychology\, and public health specialist\, originally from Argentina. In addition to being an Associate Professor at UBC\, he serves as the BC’s Chief Scientific Advisor for Psychiatry\, Toxic Drugs & Concurrent Disorders\, Provincial Medical Lead of the BC Advanced Practice for Assertive Community Treatment\, Medical Lead for Tertiary Care for the Regional Mental Health and Substance Use Program at Vancouver Coastal Health\, as well as a psychiatrist in an assertive community treatment team. \nHe has worked in multiple clinical\, research\, teaching\, and leadership roles across the public and private sector\, and has published peer-reviewed articles\, book chapters\, and reports on public health\, health systems\, global mental health\, psychiatric epidemiology\, psychopharmacology\, psychotherapy\, and e-mental health. More information can be found at Dr. Vigo’s Mental Health Systems and Services Laboratory webpage. \n  \n\nBecome a BCSS Member:\nJoin the BCSS community by becoming a member through our membership form.
