Since our last announcement in August 2018 BCSS has only been able to find an alternate short-term funding source to cover services throughout the Fraser region through until November 30, 2018.
It is with deep regret that BCSS has to inform everyone at this time that we can no longer support the entire Fraser Region. Starting December 1, 2018 BCSS will be suspending services in all areas within the Fraser Region with the exception of limited services in Mission, Langley, Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadows.
BCSS has currently submitted a proposal to the government for increased funding for all our services province-wide. This includes funding to reinstate services for the entire Fraser Region. We are encouraging families effected to reach out to their local MLA to provide support for BCSS program funding.
BCSS would like to recognize the great work and support of the Fraser Region Team during this challenging transition period. Andrew Kellett, Nancy Friesen and Hardeep Thind have been exceptional in providing much needed services and support to families of those living with a mental illness. We wish them all the best in their future endeavours.
BCSS would also like to thank all our volunteers and Family Peer Facilitators within the Fraser Region for all their years of work, dedication and contributions. We value you and you will always be a part of the BCSS family!
