We’re excited to announce that BCSS Regional Educator Melissa Trowbridge will now be serving central Vancouver Island, encompassing the communities of Bowser, Gabriola Island, Nanaimo, Parksville, Port Alberni, Qualicum, Qualicum Beach, Tofino, and Ucluelet.

Any family supporting a loved one living with any serious mental illness may reach out to connect with Melissa about the programs and services offered. She provides support, education, and advocacy for families whose lives are affected by schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, psychosis, bipolar disorder, obsessive compulsive disorder, severe depression, and others.

During COVID-19 Melissa has been offering BCSS programs virtually. Currently, she is facilitating Family Support Group meetings virtually every other week – alternating between afternoons and evenings. And this fall, Melissa will be offering the BCSS core education program, Strengthening Families Together.

As government restrictions are lifted, Melissa will be visiting communities in the Central Vancouver Island region to provide outreach, presentations, and resources. Families looking for assistance may reach out to her via email at  centralvi@bcss.org or by telephone at 250-937-1403.
