BCSS Youth: Kids In Control (Online / Virtual)

July 2, 2024 @ 4:00 pm - 5:30 pm

Kids in Control is a free education and support program for children ages 8 – 12. This is offered to the youth who have a family member with mental illness (e.g. schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, etc.). It aims to foster resilience and increase knowledge and understanding of mental illness.

It is currently offered as an eight-week online group. Each session is approximately 1.5 hours long and happens once per week. To adapt to virtual programming, we now have smaller group sizes and invite parents and caregivers to join at the beginning and end of each session. There are a few spaces left, so reach out if you’d like to gain more information and participate:

We acknowledge that the lands on which BCSS operates and supports families are the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territories of the First Nations, Metis, and Inuit Peoples. We are honoured and privileged to live and work on this land we all share. We are committed to reconciliation, decolonization, learning from and with Indigenous peoples, and building relationships within our communities.
