Schizophrenia Awareness & Learning Workshop
Thursday, October 23, 2025 | 12:00–1:00 PM
theDock – 722 Cormorant St, Victoria

This workshop, led by Abdul Kareem Shabazz—an Islamic motivational speaker and mental health advocate with lived experience of schizophrenia—is designed to raise awareness and build understanding of schizophrenia in the workplace.

Through personal storytelling, education, and interactive dialogue, the session will:

  • Raise awareness and reduce stigma around schizophrenia and other mental health conditions in professional environments.
  • Create a safe, inclusive space where employees and employers can engage in open, respectful conversation.
  • Connect participants to resources and support services available through the BC Schizophrenia Society (BCSS) and community partnerships.

This program emphasizes that with the right supports, individuals living with schizophrenia can thrive, contribute meaningfully, and bring valuable perspectives to the workplace.
